DuckTales Flavour 2 Episode 23
Let'south telephone call this DuckTales episode 'The Trial of Louie Duck' since it shines a lite on all of Louie's flaws. His laziness, his pursuit of wealth, his schemes, and most importantly? His tendency to avoid the consequences of his actions. Last episode Louie did everything he could not to get out of being grounded and it ended up with him equally the richest duck in the world. Information technology'southward no wonder he went overboard equally the new CEO, he'south been validated for everything he's done.
DuckTales has had many of its characters confront themselves and larn powerful lessons simply none have felt like this one. This episode pushes Louie right to the edge of what makes him who he is… and and so he tumbles over. Everything in the plot tore down his flaws and revealed that he has to start addressing them.
The hundred million dollar ottoman sends him flying out of the airplane. His honey Pep hurled at him in a truck. His massive spending sends a monster later on him. Non even a scheme can get him out of this. It's all funny in the most DuckTales of ways and it brings Louie to his everyman point. Whereas Glomgold and Scrooge both can't cease in their pursuit of wealth, Louie is able to wait at his actions and realize it isn't all its cracked upward to exist.
In maybe the biggest moment of character evolution in DuckTales yet, Louie shows humility and admits he can't practice this. He can't be the richest duck in the world. He can't scheme his mode out of this. He has to take responsibility and ain up to his mistakes. As Scrooge tells him, that makes amend than even he'southward ever been. Louie is finally able to break this cycle that Scrooge had started and is able to see coin isn't everything (and finally cease the monster.)
The metaphor of Scrooge previously trapping that monster is perfect. He tried to shove his own guilt and responsibility abroad merely it eventually it got out to wreck havoc on his family. At least he was willing to take the responsibleness back on but has he learned his lesson yet? Volition he keep trying to exist the richest duck, especially to spite Glomgold?
Whatever the case, Louie's character arc (for now) has come up to a satisfying conclusion and I can't wait to see what they exercise with him next. He can get in whatsoever direction now and I wonder if the series volition have him scheme for good. Perchance we'll run into some of that in the finale, if we aren't too busy dealing with an invasion.
Then yeah, an invasion is coming! It was a groovy petty B plot to have Della avert the thought that Penumbra wasn't really her friend. Information technology had some of the most solid jokes in the episode, peculiarly about the staring competition. In the best DuckTales way it was both hilarious and really sad when yous dug deep into information technology. Like Louie, Della has to realize that maybe her carefree attitude isn't always the best thing and she has to confront reality more.
Well, next episode she won't take a selection. We can't wait!
Also, Dewey dabbed and it was flawless.
